Quality Assurance Specialist - FAI
OB DESCRIPTION
AAA Canada is looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist - FAI to bring his/her expertise to our team Perform a specific quality related function within the Company’s quality program, in order to support continuous operations of the Quality department and ensure success of the department in meeting its goals
Responsibilities
- Develop and create AS 9102 First Article Inspection Reports to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards
- Assist with the completion of comprehensive first article inspections of newly manufactured components or assemblies to verify compliance with design specifications, customer requirements, and applicable standards.
- Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation to understand product requirements and inspection criteria.
- Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, including deviations, non-conformities, and areas for improvement.
- Assist with the creation of detailed part inspection plans to assist with the ongoing inspection of production parts.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes, streamline workflows, and optimize quality control procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of inspection activities, including documentation of FAI reports, measurement data, and inspection plans.
- Analyze inspection data and quality metrics to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for improvement, as may be needed to support the Quality Department.
- Collaborate with planning, production, engineering, and other relevant departments to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent future defects in support of the Quality Department.
- Develop and implement effective corrective action plans (CAPs) to address identified issues
- Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions to ensure issues are resolved permanently.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure corrective actions are executed timely and effectively
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing product quality, process efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Use Lean, Six Sigma and other quality improvement methodologies to drive process improvements
- May perform other related duties as required by the company.
- Adhere to company policies, safety guidelines, and quality management systems to uphold the highest standards of product quality and integrity
Skills and qualifications
- Able to plan and organize work; formulate and establish policy; develop and implement strategies and procedures; analyze/reason/resolve problems; motivate self and others;
- maintain integrity of systems; perform conflict resolution; multi-task; devise test setups and interpret results; read and interpret complicated drawings and specifications.
- Equivalent 4 years high school plus Completion of 2 years of post-secondary in related field
or
- Proven experience in quality control or quality assurance, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data driven decisions.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high standards of quality and compliance.
- Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor) is a plus
Required experience
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial sector.
