The Importance of Quality Assurance in the Aerospace Industry: Certifications and Compliance
Following a formal agreement in 2016 with a preferred customer, we set up an in-house training centre to certify and standardize employees' knowledge of structural, mechanical and electrical assembly.
Our unique training programs focus on using and developing AS9100 framework best practices to manage the skills of our professionals while ensuring that new employees have the desired levels of relevant knowledge.
The AS9100 framework is the Aerospace Core Quality System, the aerospace industry's version of the renowned ISO9001 (International Organization for Standardization 9001) international quality standards program.
Advanced Training in Quality Assurance: Bridging the Gap Between Theory and Practice
Certified and qualified trainers provide workers with training sessions based on both theory and practical elements. This is part of the company's continuous improvement and demonstrates our proactive leadership in the on-site subcontracting market.
Our main training program to ensure quality and compliance with standards is designed and delivered by the AAA Academy. It offers one-week certification training programs for new employees, upgrades and recertification programs based on the scope and requirements of the international AS9100 standards program.
Our training programs are designed and delivered by highly qualified trainers with AS9100 accreditation. These programs are demand-driven, meaning they are tailored to meet our customers' specific needs and requirements. We usually deliver the training after an employee has been hired but before they start working at the assigned customer organization. This ensures that our employees are well-prepared and equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
Programs are offered both in person and online. This allows customers (and new employees or those looking to upgrade their skills) to choose the option that best suits their needs. In addition, the academy offers customized training programs that can be tailored to meet the specific needs of companies or organizations.
Anticipating the Future: Challenges and Innovations in Aeronautical Quality Assurance
Major opportunities and challenges lie ahead for the industry and for us. Addressing the growing impacts of climate change is a key priority for the aviation and aerospace industries. It is likely to drive several waves of innovation in design, materials and methods of manufacture, maintenance and repair.
As the scope and complexity of innovations increase, whether in materials, information technologies or new methods, the demand for skilled and competent workers to work on new types of machinery and equipment will also likely increase.
In a new and more complex environment characterized by a growing demand for qualified and competent professionals, today's challenges are as follows:
1. Finding and hiring qualified professionals
2. Keeping relevant bodies of knowledge up to date about standards, measurements and methods
3. Ensuring the availability and implementation of appropriate training for new AAA employees.
Demographic pressures associated with an aging workforce and rising immigration levels will likely require hiring more people who have immigrated to Canada. This will pose challenges for the structure and implementation of training programs.
In addition, the growing demand from knowledge workers for learning and career development opportunities in the industry will require AAA Academy to maintain a high level of quality in the training programs it designs and delivers.
