JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Shift Lead, the AME-M is a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer responsible for performing line and heavy maintenance on multiple aircraft types, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Transport Canada regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on aircraft systems including hydraulics, engines, flight controls, landing gear, pneumatics, fuel, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct preflight, postflight, and daily inspections, perform system and engine functional checks, and clear logbook discrepancies.
  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and technical documents to determine repair methods and ensure airworthiness compliance.
  • Inspect and assess aircraft components and structures per maintenance programs, airworthiness directives, and service bulletins.
  • Replace or repair defective parts, perform cable tension adjustments, and complete operational tests on systems and engines.
  • Ensure all maintenance documentation is completed accurately and submitted for certification as required.
  • Apply safe work practices at all times and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Mentor and support apprentices by sharing technical knowledge and promoting professional standards.
  • Comply with company tool control, quality assurance, and health and safety procedures.

 

Skills and qualifications

  • Valid Transport Canada AME-M license.
  • 0–2+ years of experience in aircraft line or heavy maintenance.
  • Ground Operating (AVOP) and Radio Operator licenses.
  • Strong technical knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to obtain aircraft type endorsements and additional company training.
  • Physically fit and flexible to work various shifts.
