Aircraft Structures Technician
JOB DESCRIPTION
Edward Smith Raoelison is looking for a Structural Technician to add their expertise to our team. The Structural Technician assembles complex parts and sub-assemblies in accordance with the technical file or documentation, ensuring that the work is carried out to the required standards. They must also maintain Quality standards within their activities. The Aeronautical Technician is divided into several specialties (Inspection/Structure/Mechanics).
Responsibilities
- Know and apply the rules, procedures and processes for these operations, and know where to find them.
- Check work conformity against generic and specific standards defined in technical work documentation.
- Know health and safety rules, use personal protective equipment and environmental protection facilities.
- Execute all or part of work lines, completion of work or assembly/disassembly of aircraft equipment/systems and their mechanical connectors.
- Carry out tasks according to internal or customer documentation.
- Conduct an inventory of components before proceeding.
- Obtain information on products to be used (technical instructions, safety).
- Use available tools to proceed.
- Assemble aerostructure components using fixtures.
- Assemble metal and/or composite parts.
- Trace, sharpen, adjust, drill, bore, deburr, check fixtures.
- Use customer technical data (Production, Quality, instruction sheets, lines, environment, installation instructions, maps, etc.).
- Ensure the technical development of the assembled unit after inspection.
- Use sealant, metallization, anticorrosive, touch-up paint...
- Inspect assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Write non-conformity reports
- Report any irregularities.
- Report on work performed.
- Measure process performance
- Define and implement corrective and preventive actions for detachment.
- Read drawings to validate assemblies
- Check bores and fastener installation.
Skills and qualifications
- You have at least a vocational diploma in aeronautics/structural assembly/aircraft construction or equivalent.
- You have a minimum of two (2) to five (5) years' experience in a similar position.
- You have excellent blueprint reading skills.
- You are dexterous.
- Very good knowledge of aeronautical technical specifications.
- Knowledge of aeronautical standards (BAPS, AIPI, etc.).
- You are a quick thinker with a keen eye for detail.
- You are a team player and proactive.
Required experience
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial sector.
